I saw a 728×90 leaderboard banner ad earlier today while I was designing a 728×90 leaderboard banner ad, it said Talk.Text.Time. Ad#3 728×90 in Helvetica Neue Bold, with a see-through mobile phone on it. Needless to say, I clicked on it and it brought me to a site for the Sony Xperia Pureness that reads:

In an increasingly complex world, an innovative phone is honed down to the essentials. Xperia™ Pureness is free from excessive features, leaving an exceptionally simplified mobile experience. Talk. Text. Time.

What with the iPhone and the iPad and such (and my problems with my 3gs right now, you will be hearing about my thoughts about the iPad and the iPhone soon), I was already thinking it might be nice to just have a regular ol’ phone that did the basics.

This might be it. Apparently only sold at a few boutiques, Colette in Paris being one–that’ll give you an idea of what sort of device we’re talking about here. Did I mention it also had a Vertu-like concierge service?

I used to be an elite reviewer and all that back in the day, (before i moved to Sydney) but now that I’ve returned to the states, I’ve been yelping with a vengeance. Especially if the place sucks. Excerpt from a review of Pete’s Cafe & Bar in Downtown LA.

While the Hellman burger, oyster spoons, and blue cheese fries taste decent, like something an adventurous home cook might whip up at home out of a recipe in a “10 Minute Meals You Can Cook at Home!” feature in Maxim, the food is just a little off–the presentation seems to indicate that the food was joylessly slapped together with about as much care as a line cook at a federal penitentiary.

As you may or may not know, I love my iPhone (3gs), it’s my 5th iPhone and after having used BlackBerrys, WindowsMobile, Palm, and Android, I still think the iPhone OS is the best, and it doesn’t hurt that the hardware is super seXXXy. Thing is, to keep it looking sweet, you need a case. I’ve gone through many many cases, my favorite being the miniot iwood, even though it’s the most expensive and most fragile case out of all of them (80 euros, about $120USD), not only because it is so freakishly beautiful, but also because it doesn’t have a big fat lip keeping you from using the full face of the touchscreen, which is the biggest problem with the incase slider cases, which are otherwise beautiful, well-made, and affordable but are unusable because of the gross lip.

Enter Incase’s new perforated case, looks super light and without a big fat poky lip. All over it.

Ok, maybe “hate” is a little strong. See, I like shoes, but I am a grown-ass man, which means I have long since retired my Dunks. They just look ridiculous on someone over say… 32. I don’t care that you are wearing some fucking Billy Bragg x Costume National x Doonesbury colorway, they look like clown shoes and you are a turd for waiting in line for them. In fact, the very same dunks (I can’t even be bothered capitalizing it) that I used to clean and keep nice and fresh, I now use to go riding bmx. Brakeless. (This means I have to either drag my feet on my back tire or on the ground to stop. Not shoe-friendly.)

I am really liking these black perforated leather adidas Zeitfrei which I had previously only seen in hideous collaboration versions, and from the adidas site description, seem to be cycling shoes of some sort:

Whether you’re pegging the fun-meter on an all-city ride, or just kicking back and setting the gears to coast, the adidas Zeitfrei shoe laces you into a premium snug, quill-pedal fit with a stylish perforation design for breathability.

I have been looking for a pair of shoes to replace my beloved black stan smith 2′s (black perforated leather, WHAT!?), which I had two pairs of and have since worn into the ground. Road tests to come. BOOM.

Well, I finally sold both of them and am replacing them with a 2009 Giant Bowery, whose black and chromeness just begs for the 1989 Haro Team Master/Sport graphics treatment, which as you can tell from the Photoshop mockup above, is going to be dope. Yes, the 700cmx is definitely and shamelessly derived from DQM Dave’s dqm x trackstar builds from a few years back.

I uploaded this graphic up to zazzle last year just because I thought it would be fun to wear. This of course is an homage to the experimental jetset John Paul George Ringo t-shirt. People have been asking where I got it, and this drink is the jam (so to speak) for a lot of people, so find out how to get one for your own damn self and see the actual shirt on actual girls after the jump.

I plan on uploading more stuff soon, if you poke around, you’ll see the Smoovepreme a la Supreme box graphic tee up there as well. Get them here.
