Once upon a time (sometime in the aughts), I used to dj (more regularly than I do now).
I put up a little site at smoovebert.com in order to have a place to host podcasts and mixes and such. The podcasts were relatively well-received and garnered positive reviews in the itunes directory from people I didn’t even know. How they found it, I have no idea.
Anyway, years passed and I forgot to renew my domain, and some enterprising jackass pounced on it and then asked me for a lot of money to buy it back. Naturally, I said “fuck that” and registered smoovebert.net, where I moved my budding dj empire.
More time passed and the site turned into a blog and more time passed and smoovebert.com became available and so… all my stuff is back over there now.
So… go there now. Smoovebert.net will cease to exist soon.
Oton Bačar’s super slow-mo 1000fps and 2000fps motion tests with his 7D and Twixtor got me curious.
Here’s my first go with footage I had laying around. (It’s too cold to go outside.) It’s either a bit like watching paint dry, or very graceful. Take your pick.
Got a new camera yesterday, and although it was below freezing (28 degrees Fahrenheit), I was itching to do something with it besides take pictures of the inside of my apartment. Here’s the result.
The smoovebert podcast is back after a 3-year hiatus–the last time I updated it, I was living in friggin Australia, WTF.
couple of things:
1) I am working on a redesign of this site.
2) I am relaunching my podcast.
3) I am looking for a new job.
4) I am dj’ing at Nita Nita tomorrow night in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) at 930pm. I have tons of new music that I’m dying to play, so COME ON DOWN.
